Description: A foot heat sealer is a type of bag sealer that uses heat to close plastic bags. Heat sealers are ubiquitous to most industries and packaging operations. A foot sealer offers the benefit of allowing the user to work with both hands free to handle the product. This effectively increases the productivity of the user allowing for higher volumes of production. Foot impulse sealers are also more practical for bags containing liquid that could not be handled on a table top. A double impulse bag sealer has two heating elements. One element is located on the top jaw the second on the lower. The dual wires heat from both sides of the bag allowing the sealer to handle bags of a higher mil thickness. A double impulse sealer can handle bags from 10-20 mil thick. Another rule of thumb is to purchase a sealer that is 2 inches larger than the widest bag that needs to be heat sealed. The one inch extra on each side of the bag and allows for strong seals and faster operation. Band Sealers offer the most efficiency in closing plastic bags and should be considered when higher production volumes are required.
